Common Questions
Do I need my own AI service API key?
Yes. DeployClaw handles all deployment and management while you supply your preferred AI service credentials. OpenClaw is compatible with Anthropic Claude and OpenAI, along with self-hosted options like Ollama and llama.cpp for GPU-equipped machines. Platform-specific tokens are also needed for each messaging service you integrate (WhatsApp Business API, Discord bot credentials, etc.).
How does self-hosted deployment work?
You provision a server through your preferred cloud platform (DigitalOcean, Vultr, Hetzner, AWS, Akamai, or any dedicated server) and grant us access. We install, configure, and maintain your OpenClaw deployment. All your data remains exclusively on your own infrastructure.
What are the minimum server requirements?
We recommend at least 2 vCPU cores, 2GB of RAM, and 20GB of storage. If you plan to run local language models directly on your server, GPU hardware becomes necessary. Detailed provisioning instructions are available for every supported hosting provider.
How do you define an OpenClaw gateway?
A gateway is a single OpenClaw profile running within your deployment. Each gateway has its own workspace, identity, and connections, and can access files, run shell commands, control browsers, and connect to multiple messaging platforms including Discord, Slack, Telegram, and WhatsApp simultaneously. Multiple gateways run within one OpenClaw deployment on your server.
Can I switch plans at any point?
Yes. Plan modifications can be made whenever you need them. Upgrades and downgrades process instantly, with billing automatically adjusted on a prorated basis.
Is there a contract or can I cancel freely?
No long-term commitment required. Cancel your subscription whenever you choose and retain full access through the remainder of your current billing cycle.
